I bought this for my wife because I bought the oval 6.5 qt pot last year for christmas.While the 6.5 qt has been better than expected and the quality second to none, it requires the doubling of many recipe's especially candy. Because it has such a large foot print. This 2.5 qt pot is perfect for candy, and soups that you dont want to eat for eternity, as well as oat meal and such.These are easily cleaned and will be passed down to our future daughter in laws. Our sons are 4 and 5 so it will be a while. But I am confident these are heirloom quality. Buy this one now and you will enjoy it the rest of your life. Or you will just end up buying it later and somone else will get all of the joy out of it.

I ordered the Staub 2.25 quart cocotte in dark blue from Cooks Warehouse. The color is beautiful. Food cooks evenly in it. Clean up also is easy because food does not stick to the bottom as much as it does to the bottoms of my stainless steel pans. My only comment for additional consideration is that the size is larger than 2.25 quarts. One sticker on the box stated it is a 2.75 quart and another sticker stated it is a 3 quart cocotte. I initially ordered this pan because I thought it was a smaller size, but decided to keep it because it is not that much larger than expected. In addition, I believe it is the smallest Staub round cocotte(other than the .25 quart mini cocotte) offered in dark blue so I can't get a smaller size in blue anyway. I am glad that I kept it. I am really enjoying it!!!
